Brighton Half Marathon 2012

Now in its 22nd year, the Brighton Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 19th February 2012 and registration is open!

Whether you’re a seasoned runner looking for a new personal best or a half marathon novice the Brighton Half Marathon is the event for you. A new flatter, faster route with full road closures was introduced in 2011, receiving lots of praise and positive feedback from the runners. The majority of the route runs along the seafront whilst taking in many of Brighton's iconic sights. The main race starts at 9am, with both the start and finish line on Madeira Drive on Brighton seafront. An increased number of 12,000 runner’s places will be available for the Olympic year.

As one of the longest established and most popular seafront races in the UK the timing of the Brighton Half Marathon means it is perfectly suited as a warm-up race for all the major spring marathons, plus it is the first major city half marathon of the new year.

Registration is now open for the 2012 race with entry costing £26 for affiliated runners and £29 for non-affiliated runners. The successful 1 mile Youth Races will be taking place again as well as, new for 2012, the Corporate Charity Challenge.

The Brighton Half Marathon is organised by and the main fundraiser for Brighton based charity The Sussex Beacon, one of only two care centres in the UK providing innovative services to meet the changing needs of people living with HIV.
